How we work

Whether we're working with you on a logo, brochure, web site, or ad campaign, we'll take you through the same basic process. Here's what to expect:

Scoping it out

We get requests from the very specific ('I need 500 four-color tri-fold brochures for a tradeshow in 30 days') to the very general ('We need more business'). Regardless of the initial request, we'll try to drill down to discover the real need and scope out a project to meet that need.

Project proposal

For most projects, we can define the scope precisely enough to put together a fixed price proposal. For more open-ended projects, we can work on an hourly basis. We try to be as specific as possible in our proposals so there are no surprises.

Getting started

Once we have the green light (and a deposit, in most cases), we'll create a Project Map that includes project objectives, intended audience, key messages, and project constraints, among other things. We use this to evaluate potential solutions against the parameters of the project.

Initial design presentation

Our initial design presentation focuses on concepts rather than details. We hope to use design ideas to spark a lively discussion about the essence of your company or your product, not about which font is best or your boss's favorite color (that comes later). For that reason, we keep our initial concept sketches loose.

Design revisions

Following the determination of a design direction, we'll work closely with you through two or three rounds of design refinements - making decisions about size, layout, text, images, color, fonts - until we're ready to go into production.

Execution

Whether you believe that it's the devil or God that is in the details, we know that the best ideas aren't worth much if they are poorly executed. We use our years of experience to your advantage when you need something printed, a web site coded or an ad campaign delivered to publications.
